Silenced explores the tension between concealment and expression. A softly obscured monochrome portrait emerges through layers of encaustic wax, where the figure appears suspended between presence and disappearance. The translucent surface diffuses detail, inviting the viewer to look beyond the obvious and reflect on the emotions hidden beneath the surface.

The muted palette and tactile wax finish evoke a sense of memory, vulnerability, and resilience. Rather than presenting a literal narrative, the work leaves space for personal interpretation—speaking to moments when voices are suppressed, identities are concealed, or silence itself becomes a powerful form of communication.

Created using my original photography and finished with multiple layers of encaustic wax, each piece is individually handcrafted. The wax surface gives the work remarkable depth and luminosity, ensuring that no two encaustic artworks are ever exactly alike.
